Cast Iron Cactus (CIC) is a Roots Americana Band from New Orleans, Louisiana. The current members are Patrick Cooper on guitar and vocals and Mark Carroll on guitar and vocals, often joined by other fine musicians at certain shows. Original member Jorge Santamaria (drums, percussion and vocals) moved to Richmond, VA in July, 2022. We miss him.

CIC plays original material as well as covers from their musical heroes (Dave Alvin, Lucinda Williams, Ry Cooder, Willis Alan Ramsey, John Prine, Hank Williams, Sr., Slim Harpo, among others).

The band plays the first Saturday evening of every month at Bourree in New Orleans, and often at Carrollton Station in New Orleans, the Old Point Bar in Algiers and Abita Brew Pub in Abita Springs. In April, 2022 CIC played at the legendary Red Dragon Listening Room in Baton Rouge. Check out the dates on the “Come See Me” page on this website!
