"What Crossing Canal offers the listener is an honest journey of songs that speak about everyday life. The acoustic nature of the duet rings true, Ross and Cooper are believable and with each track their satiating sound rings true." All About Vocals--Review of Lowdown Runaround Fool, October 2018

Crossing Canal is a duo consisting of Patrick Cooper (originally from Shreveport, Louisiana) and Ruby Ross (originally from Charlottesville, Virginia), two New Orleans Singer/Songwriters. The duo features beautiful vocal harmonies with two acoustic guitars as instrumentation. We play original songs written by the two of us along with cover songs with our own spin. We played regularly at the Bayou Bar on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans and at the Kerry Irish Pub in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Seven notable shows were at Tipitina's in New Orleans, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Abita Springs Opry on the Northshore, the Red Dragon Listening Room in Baton Rouge (opening for Will Kimbrough), Gasa Gasa in New Orleans (opening for The War and Treaty), The Hartley/Vey Theatre in Baton Rouge (opening for The Mulligan Brothers) and at the beautiful Manship Theatre in Baton Rouge opening for the legendary David Bromberg.
